Children’s Lesson 2

TEAMWORK AND ME

Ephesians 4:15-16
No! We will speak the truth with love. We will grow up in every way to be like Christ, who is the head. The whole body depends on Christ. And all the parts of the body are joined and held together. Each part of the body does its own work. And this makes the whole body grow and be strong with love.

The Body of Christ grows when everybody plays their part.

One of the most important things to remember in playing a ball game is knowing that it is a team sport in which the goal is NOT for only one player to run with a ball…but for the team to move the ball down field and hopefully score a goal.

T – TOGETHER

E – EVERYONE

A – ACCOMPLISHES

M – MORE than we could ever do on our own

The team will be the best when each player does their part.

That same thing is true for us and our friendship or relationship with Jesus Christ. We are to grow up in our life with Christ both as a person and as the body of Christ.  When we use our gift with a team, we can do great things for God, that we could never do on our own.

Gifts are given to followers of Christ for 3 reasons:

1) To serve one another. Galatians 6:2

2) To demonstrate God’s love to the world. John 13:35

3) To build us up and make us strong in our faith. Philipians 4:13

Are you on GOD’s team or are you on team ME?
